ABSTRACT:
Cloud computing is the logical evolution of information communication technology (ICT) outsourcing for a Web-enabled world and it can encompass many different outsourcing models, from traditional managed and hosted applications to the emerging software-as-a-service (SaaS) approach, where customers can consume packaged applications on a pay-as-you-go basis.
This paper explores the drivers for cloud computing, especially for communications service providers, many of which already have the foundations for a cloud computing infrastructure. It looks at the challenges that cloud computing infrastructures must address and the key management components providers will need to put in place to support a cloud computing business.
