ABSTRACT:
Distributed enterprise networks face ever-increasing security threats due to wide-spread adoption of new applications operating over the Internet. This trend has sparked growth in the IT security space, where hundreds of vendors have emerged offering point solutions to protect against most threats. Deploying this type of security technology across entire distributed enterprises at hundreds of small branch offices, often with minimal onsite IT support, has been until recently impractical and simply cost-prohibitive. In the past, enterprises simply ignored branch security altogether, giving up defense in-depth, exposing branch users and the entire enterprise network to a myriad of threats on the Internet. In this whitepaper we will address:
  • the typical security threats that face distributed enterprises and remote branch offices
  • how to implement and manage UTM at the branch office
  • how to deploy and manage these features efficiently and uniformly
