Diligent's ProtecTIER platform is an enterprise-scale comprehensive data-protection solution that produces dramatic data reduction, allowing for an increase in the effective capacity of a given disk array of 25x or more. ProtecTIER enables the economical use of disk-storage for backup, restore and long-term data retention. Built for the Enterprise data center, ProtecTIER is optimized to run at 200 megabytes per second and manage up to 1 petabyte (PB) of physical storage with each ProtecTIER node. It scores well in four key areas: improving reliability and performance of backup and restore operations; reducing cost of on-site data retention; improving the cost and reliability of electronic off-site data transfer; and enhancing access to archive data.
