ABSTRACT:
Midsize companies - firms that are neither small business nor in the Fortune 5000 - are under increasing pressure to sharpen their process in light of globalization and changing economic conditions. In over 800 interviews with midsize companies, IDC discovered that while their needs are complex and varied, they share a common interest in using advanced technology solutuions similar to those deployed by larger interprises yet they face constraints of limited IT budgets and resouces.
Sensing a need in the marketplace in 2007, HP and Oracle announced a new focus in their 25-year alliance with the goal of addressing the "need versus resource" gaps that often hinder midsize companies from competing in the global market place. This white paper provides glimpses into the solutions born of this newly-focused alliance.
